ColinDavis and Night People is a concept band specializing in classic New Orleans funk and soul music,as well as an expanding repertoire of original material influenced by the treasured artists of the Crescent City. After working the New Orleans music scene as a side man in various projects for fifteen years, drummer/producer Colin Davis formed the band in 2017. Recently, CDNP has been hard at work writing and recording original material, and developing a unique, hard hitting sound geared toward giving a live audience a musical experience they won’t forget. With the release of their debut EP, PATHWAYS (2021) CDNP is ready to bring their brand of NOLA pop/soul to the universe! The repertoire also includes, but is not limited to, the genius of Allen Toussaint, Lee Dorsey, Dr. John, The Meters, Irma Thomas, Earl King, Ernie K-Doe, Willie Tee, Chocolate Milk and many more! Our guiding principle is to infuse the work of these legendary New Orleans artists with our own musical passion and style. Our mission is to move you musically, emotionally, physically, to celebrate together a shared and uniquely American New Orleans musical heritage.

Dana Abbott appeared in episodes of the New Orleans-centric TV shows “‘Treme” and “Big Easy Brides” and was a season three contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” prompting celebrity judge Adam Levine of Maroon 5 to label her as “amazing and unique.”

As a treme local, she formalized her vocal education skills at the University of New Orleans during the day and cut her teeth on the then-neglected streets of her hometown, gigging relentlessly on Bourbon and Frenchmen Streets by night.
